Energy Links and Web Site Reviews

Web site: Energyhawk

Web Review By: Luis Yani And Grayson Arango

I think that it is very cool. It is cool because they tell ways to save energy like turning the lights off and covering your food so your fridge saves energy. It has links to energy savers for rooms and places like your kitchen, bathroom, and a variety of other topics. The site is better for older kids but you can find out some things you would never think about. It would be ok for young kids but it would not be as well understood. You really should go to www.energyhawk.com!

Web site: Energy QuestTM

Web Review By Alex Huang and Nelson Perez

You could use this website as a bibliography reference. You can also get information about Benjamin Franklin. There are stories in this website. It has a lot of games. The games are really fun. It tells you about ways to save energy like turning off the light when you leave a room. It also has a page of rhymes. It talks about how you can conserve energy. Be sure to check out the energy art contest you could even win a computer!

Web site: Passaic County N.J., Office of Natural Resource Programs Kid's Corner

Web Review By Jackson Carbajal

The website "Kids Corner" is a great place to go if you want to have fun. This website has games, contests, quizzes, coloring sheets and much more! This site shows you how you can help the environment. It shows you how to take care of the environment by telling stories of how animals save their environment and they try to get you to help save the environment too. They make you want to help the environment by showing you what it looks like if you don't help the world. So if you want the world to be a great place you should recycle things and throw things in the trash.

Web site: Epatrol

Web Review By Christian Cruz and Nadirah Porter

This is a fun link/site that tells you how to save energy. It has great illustrations! It tells you how to save energy in your own home. It even has a quiz! There are four different links; they are different rooms. There is a bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and laundry room. In each room there are other links that link to facts; for example if you go to the bedroom and click on the lamp it will lead to a page that says try fluorescent light bulbs, they use about 40% less energy. I like this site very much and it is appropriate for all ages.

Web site: Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Network (EREN), Dr. E's Energy Lab

Web Review By Jessica Perez

Dr. E's lab is a great starting point for research on the different types of energy. It has different energy categories such as wind energy, geothermal energy, solar energy, and general renewable energy. You can also ask questions and send them to energy experts. When you click on the hot links that say the different types of energy and you will get a bunch of different websites to go to. The website is put on by US Department of Energy. Over all the website is a great learning resource for children of all ages.

Web site: Energy Conservation Conserve Electricity Go Fishing!

By Caitlyn Whittaker

The energy conservation site is a really good site to learn how to conserve energy. They say that there are better things to do than play video games, watch T.V., and use a whole bunch of electricity. One of the things they recommended is going fishing. They say it is a good idea now because there will be fish migrating there in the next few months. I think they set a really good example of what to do to conserve energy.
