Lending a Helping Hand to Our Library

Interview with Mrs. White

Our library sure has been looking nice lately. That is partly because of two wonderful volunteers from the community who have been busy helping Mrs. Soto, our librarian. These two wonderful ladies might seem like strangers to us, but they are no strangers to the library.

Grace Moyer devoted over 27 years to the Carpinteria Public Library as the librarian. When we asked her what brought her to us, she said that even though she is retired she really enjoys helping out in our library.

Phyllis Fenger is also very familiar with how the library works. She was the head of the children's department at the Redondo Beach Public Library. Since she is also retired, Phyllis spends her free time volunteering to organize our library. She also enjoys reading stories with the classes at Main School when they come to the library. When we asked her why she chooses to volunteer her time she said, "We'd be willing to pay Mrs. Soto to let us work here!" We're so lucky to have such great community volunteers.
