Rotary Club of Carpinteria Awards a Main School TeacherBy Mrs. Cole
Mrs. White has been a big help for all of our CyberFair projects. She is always donating time to involve the community with Main School. The Rotary Club of Carpinteria has an award for Distinguished Service to the Community. This year for the first time the award was given to one of our teachers, Mrs. White. This award is given to single out people in the community that are not members of the Rotary Club. The award is to honor a recipient for "excellence and integrity in their professions and community service activities."Mrs. White, a third grade teacher was chosen for her contribution to the community with the song she wrote for the Red Ribbon Week activies, sponsored by the Rotary Club. Her class performs the song called "I've Got Better Things to Do Than Drugs" every year at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. Mrs. White was presented with this award at a luncheon on February 7, 2002. Her class came to participate in the festivities by performing the song yet again for the members of the Rotary Cub. Congratulations Mrs. White! |
