We Interviewed Libby Weinberg Director of Carpinteria Beautiful

Libby Weinberg is the head of Carpinteria Beautiful. She loves her job because it makes Carpinteria Beautiful. She started in 1990. Donna Jordan and Dr. Carty started the whole program. About 20 people are volunteering for Carpinteria Beautiful each month. Libby Weinberg doesn't get paid for her job because it is a nonprofit organization. She has a lot of fun doing her job, but it is a very hard work. Her favorite part of her job is looking at the things that have been accomplished. Carpinteria Beautiful is an organization to keep Carpinteria Beautiful. The program has been going on for about 15 years. One day a real estate person came to Libby's house and wanted a tour of it. After he/she saw the house he/she asked Libby if she wanted to help with Carpinteria Beautiful, She said yes. One of Libby's favorite parts of Carpinteria Beautiful is meeting people. Carpinteria Beautiful cleans up all of the places that have the 93013 addresses.
Carpinteria Beautiful gets their money from home and garden tours every year. The tours take you through houses and gardens. The tickets for the tours are $15.00 dollars each.
Carpinteria Beautiful is not associated with any other organization in Santa Barbara, even though they all have the same goals.
To get more people to join Carpinteria Beautiful the members hand out flyers to peoples' houses. The flyer says what Carpinteria Beautiful does want and tries to get more people to join.
Carpinteria Beautiful sponsors two Carpinteria pride days. They are in the spring and in the fall.
Libby Weinberg has lived in Carpinteria for 15 years. She likes living here because it is a calm and beautiful town.
The city government is not involved with Carpinteria Beautiful unless they choose to be.
This is one of the areas Carpinteria Beautiful keeps beautiful!
